Diego Costa stopped until the end of the season
Atletico Madrid's Diego Costa has received a penalty today for his behavior towards referee Jesús Gilles Manzano during the 2-0 loss to Barcelona last Saturday.
Costa was fired in the first half for "insulting or insulting language."
The Spanish Football Federation (FIGC) punished the player today for suspending four games for insulting and 4 others for appealing to the referee.
Atletico may appeal against Costa's penalty, but if he does not relax, the player will not be able to participate with the team until the end of the season.
Spanish media reported that Costa had denied using any derogatory language to the government, and instead blamed a misunderstanding, in which he expressed dissatisfaction with the situation, rather than attacking the government.
